Financial Accountant (9 month Contract) - Brisbane Corporate Office

As Financial Accountant and reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, you will provide support to Anglo American's mine sites regarding transactional accounting services. With a strong focus on completing and preparing the month end results for the corporate office your responsibilities will include month end accruals, corporate recharges, general ledger reconciliations, and the preparation of financial statements. As part of the team responsible for the monthly consolidation of the Anglo American Metallurgical Coal Business Unit result for the Australian operations, knowledge of consolidated accounting would be advantageous. You will also be a contact point for the corporate office for any accounting related issues. Additional tasks include the completion of FBT return and liaison with auditors to facilitate the sign off of key financial reporting deliverables.

You will possess relevant degree qualifications in Commerce/Business coupled with CPA or CA qualifications and two years post-graduate experience in either business services or a commercial environment. Your exceptional time management and communication skills will be necessary to deliver within a deadline driven environment and to build relationships with site staff. Experience in the mining industry and knowledge of Ellipse will be highly regarded.
