MINING SUPERINTENDENTS – CAPCOAL

Due to continual success and consistent development of the Anglo American business we are currently seeking a passionate, relationship-driven and energetic Mining Superintendent to join our team at Capcoal in Middlemount.

As the Mining Superintendent you will lead, direct and manage mining activities to ensure that coal mining activities are undertaken in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner in line with agreed operational standards and targets. Significant experience leading teams in one or more of overburden, dragline, drill & blast and mine services is highly desirable.

Reporting to the Manager – Operations, this "business critical" role requires you to:-

• Manage the performance of production activities and deliver against agreed production targets and schedules, ensuring that jobs are completed in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with all relevant safety and statutory procedures and legislation;
• Liaise with Maintenance, Technical and other Support Services to establish Production priorities and ensure operations requirements and targets are incorporated into Production design and schedules;
• Work effectively within the Operations team to provide and secure services necessary to achieve production goals.  Prioritise equipment and people, interact with and negotiate to ensure that business needs are met;
• Ensure ongoing measurement, monitoring and reconciliation of work to facilitate achievement of the Mine Plan and keep operations staff updated on changes through accurate and timely information reporting;
• Ensure that the work practices and systems within the Production team are consistent with the Met Coal Safety, Health, Environment and Community Management System and any statutory requirements by monitoring and reviewing activities to minimize any negative impact on the environment and minimize the exposure of SHEC related risks to employees;
• Ensure Capcoal operations meet its statutory and corporate SHEC obligations by supporting the development of the Met Coal Safety, Health, Environment and Community Management System.
