Specialist Mining Engineers – Strategic Mine Planning

As the Specialist Mining Engineer – Strategic Mine Planning, you will be responsible for the development and completion of high quality long term strategic plans for the operational sites within AAMC (both underground and open cut). Based in our Corporate Office in Brisbane and reporting to the Regional Manager, Strategic Mine Planning, you will develop plans that will define the future strategic direction of our operations by identifying and addressing critical issues and opportunities thereby ensuring optimisation of the resource. You will work closely with key operations personnel and technical experts throughout AAMC to create plans and report on results whilst focusing on continuous process improvements.

You will possess tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering (or related) and a minimum of five years experience in an operational role along with two years technical experience in underground or open cut coal mining. Demonstrated experience with XPAC scheduling software is required and experience with design software such as Minescape or Minex would be and advantage for the role. Financial modelling acumen will be highly regarded. Your high level strategic planning, strong communication and analytical skills will enable you to communicate and lead the delivery of specialist long term planning expertise to operations.
